Spoiled as all hell
Well, I have to say, my birthday so far has been fabulous! I opened a package from home today, and my parents went completely overboard with 2 bottles of port from my birth year! Having a family in the wine business definitely has its perks! I also got a very downtown-funky-chic top and jacket from my mom, who knows my taste too well. Thanks Mom!
Check out Dani's blog Knit, Stitch, Click for photos and more details about her amazing gifts. I was hoping to get myself a little birthday present today of some kind of cheapo digital camera, but I have a midterm on Thursday and I don't think I should tempt myself with such a distraction. Perhaps this weekend.
Knitting action: On the subway last night (with my adorable new sheepy knitting bag in tow) I worked on a long-time UFO. It's a garter stitch scarf from some kind of ladder yarn, label long gone. Maybe Eros? Does that ring a bell with anyone? It's a lovely jewel green colour, and is destined to become one of those multi-purpose scarves: around the neck, as a belt, as a hair wrap...the possibilities are endless! It's actually the second time I've knit this scarf. The first time I made it about half the width, and it got so stretched out that I didn't want to wear it. This time I'm going wider, so when it gets stretched thin, it will still have some substance to it. Again, sorry no pictures!
Oh, and my horoscope for the day:
Monday, January 31st
If your birthday is today:
You are determined to make something of your life. You are determined to leave your mark on the world. That is more likely to happen if you are ruthlessly honest with yourself about what you are good at and, just as importantly, what you are bad at. You were born with a particular talent and that is the talent you must use.
PS. Thanks Gail for being my first commenter! I'm glad to have you reading along again :) See guys? Not only is Dani an amazing friend, but she has the coolest mom ever!
