Pack for my back

Picking up a backpack (THE backpack) from my good buddy Cagla really started to get me excited about travelling, as if I wasn't before.  She was just a doll to lend it to me, because it's freed up some more funds to spend while I'm travelling.  She used it to travel all around Europe last summer, so it's already filled with good travel energy.

Went camping this weekend for one last burst of relaxation (can relaxation be a burst?) before this hell week at work that's ahead of me.  I packed the barest minimum for the weekend, you know, to get used to living the Spartan life.  Unfortunately, the one item I shouldn't have been hesitant about packing was sunscreen.  Currently, I more closely resemble a tomato than I do a sophisticated world traveller.  Ah well, maybe in a week it will turn into a nice golden tan?

I can't believe it; one week today I will be doing last minute packing things, getting ready to head out to the airport.  Work will be but a distant memory.  I'll have done a few laps around the neighborhood with my pack loaded up, and probably pitched half the stuff I was planning on taking.

I am excited for you....but I am going to miss you! You can't go! Ok, you can go, but come home really soon. It is going to be such a long month without you. Who will I talk to about knitting? And our boys? Ah dear. I may have to come down to your place to see you walking around the block with your backpack on. Hee hee.
