Barbados Ready

I think this must be # 58 on the list of why Dani is the best friend a girl could ever ask for.

I'm the maid of honour in her wedding this August, which is taking place in Barbados. And by the way, I cannot WAIT for it I'm so excited.

But, as a maid of honour/bridesmaid, the question always arises: "What hideous outfit am I going to be forced to shell out money for, be mortified to wear, and hide in the back of my closet forevermore?"

Not so with Dani. She said I could pick whichever dress I wanted in the whole wide world. When I tried to clarify "but..what colour should it be? Doesn't it have to be the colour of the wedding? Doesn't it have to match the best man?"

"Nope. Whatever colour you pick will be the colour of the wedding, and we'll make sure the best man is wearing something that doesn't clash."

An angel that girl is, I'm telling you.

So, we hit the mall on Sunday in search of something for me to wear. And here's what we found:

Now, we didn't see this on a mannequin at Banana Republic and hum and haw about it. Not, we poached it off the back of another dressing room door. I tried it on, fell in love, and so did Dani. Sure, it wasn't the bargain of the century, but I'm sure I'll wear it many times after the wedding is done, which is more than can be said for most chartreuse satin bridesmaid's montrosities dresses.

As for knitting? Well, since Dani accused me of NEVER knitting publically on her website (it's my fault, I signed up for a solidarity-type group that is supposed to help each other finish projects) I did knit something. Just a little cell phone cover. Basically a very small sock with no heel. And I grafted the toe WITHOUT a yarn needle. Was on the go bus, no needle in sight...I improvised.
